Aiza Maizo-Pontillas clears air on tweet claiming her 'exclusion' from SEA Games team

AIZA Maizo-Pontillas has finally cleared the air on her claim that she was already cut from the Philippine team to the Southeast Asian Games, which sparked a furor on social media sites.
In a tweet posted late Friday, the Cagayan Valley utility spiker said she went to the Philippine team practice at the Blue Eagle gym only to find out that she was no longer part of the lineup.
When Spin.ph finally caught up with her, Maizo-Pontillas admitted she learned about her supposed axing not from officials but from a tweet by a mediaman claiming she was replaced by Ateneo's Bea de Leon.

“Ang reaction ko lang naman about sa tweet," she said on Tuesday afternoon after the Lady Rising Suns lost to Philippine Army, 23-25, 24-26, 17-25, in their semis match in the Shakey's V-League.
“Hindi kasi ako masyado nag-ano sa Twitter parang may nag-send lang sa akin. Sabi, 'Nakita mo na ba ‘to? So ayun nga ini-screen shot, sinend sa akin so nabasa ko,” she added.
“Friday pagkatapos ng training namin, pahinga lang tapos ayun mga 10 p.m. yata mga ganoon doon ko lang nakita ‘yung tweet."
Maizo-Pontillas said she felt bad learning about her 'exclusion' not from team officials but through social media.
“Naisip ko, bat napalitan ako eh kaka-training ko lang? Sa isip ko lang, bakit di pa dineretso sa akin nauna pa ‘yung media sa social media pa sinabi?” she said.
Maizo-Pontillas' tweet sparked an uproar on Twitter that hardly died down even after national coach Roger Gorayeb had issued a clarification saying no one from the pool has been cut.
A final 12-woman lineup will be released on Wednesday (May 20) from the 13-woman pool composed on Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Santiago, Gretcel Soltones, Rachel Anne Daquis, Aby Marano, Dindin Sangtiago-Manabat, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Maika Ortiz, Jia Morado, Rhea Dimaculangan, Denden Lazaro and Maizo-Pontillas.
Maizo-Pontillas assured that she will still attend the nationals' practice on Wednesday.
