In this matchup, we see two teams at the opposite ends of the rankings.
Iran is at the top of almost all skill areas while Philippines is struggling against its much taller
opponents. Iranians are also superior to the Filipino athletes from height, size, reach up to the skill areas.
For Iran, any of its spikers can lead the team in scoring as 4 of them are scoring in double digits per game. Yes, you read it right, four players. While the Philippines only have Marck Espejo who is averaging in double markers a game with 10.5 points. Points off offensive blocks, quick and running hits from veterans Peter Torres and Rex Intal can do a lot of damage against the taller Iran squad.
We cannot really expect Philippines to win against the Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Champions but they need to build momentum going into the classification stages for the 9th-16th place.
