Philippines and Saudi Arabia found themselves battling for the 9th-16th places. A win makes them two steps closer to the 9th place finish. While the loser of this match will settle for the best possible slot which is 13th place.
Philippines finds itself at the bottom of the team rankings in spikes, blocks. They also give up the most number of points every set in the 16-team tournament, which is something that Saudi Arabia can limit even if it lost its first two games.
The Filipino team is one of the two teams in the competition who has not won a single set; the other is Vietnam. The nationals should take advantage of the fact that the Saudi Arabians have not been serving very well. There, they must have a good reception in order to create plays to break Saudi's blocking patterns. Blocking should not work for KSA this time around. They have averaged over 17 blocks per ball game. The team who can maximize its strengths and take advantage of the opponent's weaknesses will surely win this game.
