Rogen Ladon secures bronze in the World Boxing Championships

DOHA - Filipino boxer Rogen Ladon defeats Poland's Dawid Agodzinski in their quarterfinal bout of the Men's Light Flyweight category of the AIBA World Boxing Championships. Ladon won via unanimous decision, 3-0. All three referees from Russia, Uzbekistan and Turkey scored 30-27 in favor of Ladon.

Before this match, Ladon already scored an upset, eliminating the top seed Mexican boxer Altamira Velasquez in a very convincing fashion.

He only needs one more win to book his ticket to the Rio Olympics next year. He will face Vasily Yegorov of Russia in his semi-final bout. Yegorov advanced in the semis with a split decision win over Mongolia's Gan-Erdene Ghankuyag.
